MSN: First With RSS Search

Post to Twitter Post to Facebook

MSN Search can now claim to be the first search engine which lets you search for RSS feeds and sites with RSS feeds specifically with its regular search engine.

Robin Good reports that you can now use feed: to search for RSS feeds (whether they contain the filetype of .rss, .xml, .atom, .feed or even virtual URIs, like this blog's /feed) and use hasfeed: to locate pages with feeds on them.

Examples:

  • feed:"nathan weinberg" - feeds that mention me in them
  • feed:site:nytimes.com - all 47 New York Times feeds
  • hasfeed: - all 125,292,364 websites with feed links
  • hasfeed:google - Google related sites with feeds (I'm 16? 16!)
  • Where's Google and Yahoo?
