Adobe And Macromedia Ready Get Together

Adobe Systems and Macromedia look like their on a steady course to complete the acquisition process as stockholders from both companies announced they had voted in favor of the merger. 99% of Adobe's outstanding shares and 99.8% of Macromedia's outstanding shares voted yea on the matter.

Macromedia shareholder will get 1.38 share of Adobe for each share of Macromedia and they look for the transaction to close sometime in the fall assuming no problems arise with regulatory issues. U.S regulators asked for more information in July regarding the deal.

As both companies are in the electronic publishing business, this will bring a lot of quality, popular products under the same roof including Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat. This will make a Adobe quite the powerhouse in electronic publishing software.

The deal is valued at $3.4 billion.
