Amazon.com is now offering a new service called "Amazon Shorts" from which customers can sample the work of new authors for 49 cents each.
Through the Amazon Shorts service, customers receive digital samples of the works of authors in many different genres and formats. Check out their press release to see a list of the authors included so far.
"Amazon Shorts will help authors find new readers and help readers find and discover authors they'll love," said Steve Kessel, Amazon.com's vice president of Digital Media.
"We hope that by making short-form literature widely and easily available, Amazon.com can help to fuel a revival of this kind of work," added Kessel.
Amazon makes a point that customers don't need any kind of digital rights management software for Amazon Shorts.
Customers can choose from three options to read each work including a "view now" option, a downloadable PDF file, or they can choose to simply have the piece emailed to them.
