Yahoo Gets CNN, ABC News Video

News feeds from the two news media companies will be featured on Yahoo's web site in two forms.

Online news video has become the hot item in Internet media over the past few weeks. 433,000 people watched the space shuttle Discovery launch, according to NASA. And CBS News disclosed its plans to switch focus from traditional broadcast news to broadband delivery of its content.

Yahoo has announced it will feature video content from CNN.com and ABC News. CNN will provide daily video clips, while ABC News will contribute on-demand video feeds. Both offerings will be advertiser supported and free to users, according to AP.

"The addition of CNN.com and ABC News video to Yahoo! brings two of the world's most respected and valuable news providers to the Internet's largest audience," Scott Moore, vice president of content operations for Yahoo, said in a press release.

With more users turning to the Internet for news, and a multi-billion dollar advertiser bonanza in play, portals like Yahoo want to find every possible way to keep viewers within their sites to maximize potential ad exposures.
