The potential of video iPods downloading licensed Disney content from iTunes might be a step closer to reality.

On July 11, I posted an article commenting on an Ars Technica story regarding the Apple/Intel deal, and how the Xscale processor might be more at home in Apple's briskly selling iPod line than the Mac.

In that article, I theorized on how the respective heads of Apple and Disney, Steve Jobs and Robert Iger, might be at a point professionally where Disney content could appear on a video iPod by the holidays, should the video iPod come to pass.

Today, the Business 2.0 blog has this tidbit, where Erick Schonfeld references B2.0 editor-at-large Mark Sloan. According to Mr. Sloan (bold emphasis mine):
Steve Jobs has spoken with Disney President and soon-to-be CEO Bob Iger about ways to license various Disney content for a video iPod, according to an internal Disney email I have obtained. That could include anything from clips from ESPN and ABC News to short cartoons.
Mr. Jobs, of course, also heads Pixar Animation Studios, which has partnered with Disney for distribution of Pixar's wildly successful films. It appears the thawing of relations between Disney and Pixar may lead to big things on a certain little iconic media player.
