Yahoo Video Now Supports Flash

In an extremely innovative move on Yahoo's part, they've introduced Flash support into their video search service, an integration none of their competitors have pulled off, unless they've done it behind closed doors.

According to the Yahoo Search blog, you can actually limit your video searches to include only Flash animation files. This is accomplished by adjusting the Yahoo Advanced Video Search options.

Yahoo's integration of Flash into their video search does not end with animated movies either. Users can also find games that use Flash as their development medium. A quick search of the term "Star Wars" finds Yahoo's Flash support seems to be working as they say. However, because of Flash notorious reputation for not being search engine friendly, I'm curious to know exactly how they found all this material to populate their index with.

That aside, if you are even a remote fan of the Flash genre, you should definitely check out Yahoo Video Search and see what animations you can find. You may be surprised.
