Become.com Launches News Search

Keeping with up with the desires of the Internet audience is a very demanding order. Knowing what the viewing public desires and being able to provide it is key.

With the wealth of information available from a few keystrokes entered into search engine, many web denizens are obsessed with getting factual news information as quickly as possible. Because of these desires, news aggregate services like Google News, Yahoo, MSN Newsbot, Ask.com, and NewsNow (to name a few) have launched and flourished.

With that, prepare to meet the newest news aggregation/search service (with a twist) on the block: Become.com.

Become recently launched a news search service that provides current, up-to-date news articles relevant to their shopping needs (the twist). The service, which is accessed automatically when a query is entered, provides information on new products, safety warnings, recalls, as well as a wide range of shopping-related content.

According to Become's press release, news links related to search queries will be displayed directly below the search box. Only news articles related to the search will be displayed.

Become founder, President and CEO Michael Yang offers these thoughts about Become's new news search service:

"Become.com's News Search is the latest component of our service designed to help people make ideal buying decisions. By providing exceptionally relevant and up-to-date information combined with our index of more than 3 billion pages of shopping related content, we are helping people make more confident, better-informed purchases. Not only do we want to help consumers make informed decisions, we also want to protect them. Product recalls happen daily and the News Search service is designed to build consumer awareness."
