In one of the more user-friendly promotional moves, Yahoo is making use of Times Square in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of their search engine by having people from the general public take part in their Top Search Challenge, which is being displayed on the Reuters Sign, which is located in Times Square.
Yahoo is inviting New Yorkers down to Times Square in order to take part in their search-based challenge. Participants will answer questions about the top searches being done using Yahoo Search. The questions will be based on data collected from Yahoo! Buzz, Yahoo's service for keeping track of popular searches.
Contestants take part in the competition by using their cell phone to answer questions appearing on the Reuters Time Square sign. According to the Yahoo Search blog, for the rest of today, the questions wil be limited to searches concerning NYC.
So, if you feel like taking the Yahoo Top Search Challenge and you live in or are visiting New York, head on down to Times Square and look for the 23-story temporary Yahoo display. Judging by their image, you won't miss it.
