A beta version of a new feature for Google Mobile search lets users sift through sites designed for mobile computing devices.
Google has expanded its existing mobile offering by adding a feature that searches only through sites made for the small screen.
Through a phone's web browser, users could already access Google.com to do web, image, and local information searches. To use the new Mobile Web search, users navigate to Google on their phones, select Mobile Web (Beta) as the search option, type in a query and hit the Google Search button.
Google Mobile Search supports over 80 languages. To change, simply append your URL with ?hl=[two-letter language code]. One exotic language option is Klingon.
One feature not yet supported on Google Mobile is sponsored links. Search results will only contain the standard returns on a query. Otherwise, search queries and results work the same on the mobile version as they do on a PC.
Another beta offering for mobiles is Google SMS. By entering a query as a text message and sending it to shortcode 46645, Google can provide information for a number of queries, like weather, local business info, driving, directions, and movie showtimes, among others.
Blogger Mobile has been available for a while from Google. Text or photos sent from a mobile device to go@blogger.com can be automatically posted to one's blog page.
