Bloggers: Slim Down!

Could someone tell Russell Beattie to stop putting ultra-wide images in his blog posts? They keep breaking my aggregator, forcing me to either scroll back and forth sideways, or just skip the posts and hope I can understand the gist from the 80% of the text I can read.

I think its generally agreed that there is nothing more annoying than having to scroll sideways on the web, so annoying that I refuse to read websites that don't keep it all on my screen. I love that RSS gives me the plain text, removing the page elements that make content reading harder. Problem is, if images get too wide, the text follows suit, and I get all pissy again. Now, Russell is a great blogger, but tends to use ultra-wide images. One recent post had a 684 pixel wide image, another was 644x480. Can't we establish a limit of 500, with links to larger versions? I like to limit all images to 450 wide, with my blog's template keeping me close to that limit.

Can you imagine viewing these images on a mobile device?
