Retail Search Advertising Spending Doubles

A study conducted by the Forrester Research Group found retailers in the US more than doubled the amount of money spent on search engine advertising in 2004.

According to MarketingVOX, the amount retailers spent on search advertising in 2004 was an average of $877,630 as opposed to the $399,923 average spent in 2003.

The study also indicated that retailers receive around 43 percent of their site traffic from search engines, once again demonstrating just how important a strong search presence can be, especially for those who offer goods and services.

The information can be found in the State of Retailing Online 8.0 study. Visit Forrester.com for more details.
