Available in stores just in time for the Christmas season (excuse my childish giggles as I grab my Santa letter stationary), Nokia presents us with their answer to the budget crunching Tablet PC-the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet.
The half-pound, smaller than an Etch-a-Sketch gizmo features a 4.13-inch stylus operated touch screen and allows web surfing using a WiFi/Bluetooth connection.
This means you can surf from the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, the laundry room, the deck, or anywhere that has wireless Internet capabilities.
The Internet tablet is similar to other offerings on mobile phones, PDAs, and Tablet PC.
But the size allows for minimal squint factor and reduction of "Internet Face," and will be priced at $350--$1650 cheaper than the Tablet PC.
Based on Debian Linux v2.6 with a Gnome user interface called "Maemo," the open force platform will come equipped with Internet Tablet 2005 software edition, web browser, Flash Player 6, email, Internet Radio, and an array of audio/video/imaging format support.
