A search engine focusing on web sites and properties originating from South Africa has enjoyed its official launch.
The engine, called Funnel, only indexes pages and sites from South Africa. Not only does Funnel concentrate on South African sites, they've also introduced an advertising service, again focusing on web properties originating from South Africa.
The Funnel search interface follows Google's format quite closely, featuring a "Hot Spot" search button similar to Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" selection. Funnel's goal is to assist South African citizens in finding quality indigenous web properties.
Funnel's chief competition comes from South African search properties Ananzi and Aardvark.
