Google Courts Korean Internet Users

A recent trip to Korea indicates Google's commitment to the Asian market. On May 10, Google began a bus tour of Korea and invited students onto the bus where they were given an opportunity to use Google's search engine, while receiving Gmail accounts.

During their 3-week stay, Google will be touring other Korean universities in an effort to expose the Korean population to Google's search engine and the capabilities users have when they use Internet search. Google's excursion is only a part of their strategy to attract Korean Internet users.

Recently, Google introduced Korean language support for their Toolbar and their Desktop Search Tool. They've also introduced a Korean version of Gmail.

These particular moves emphasize Google's interest in the Asian market. It was recently revealed Google would be opening an office in China complete with an advertising team. Google's goal for their Chinese office is to introduce the concept of search engine marketing to Chinese businesses and Internet users alike.
