Go Go Mozilla: FireFox 50 Million Mark

Internet browser Firefox has hit the 50 million-download mark and continues to grow in the monopolistic environment created by software leviathan Microsoft. All these downloads happened in the short span of 171 days.

.The download blitz sparked from a campaign by Mozilla called SpreadMozilla. SpreadMozilla enlisted over 100,000 people and helped get Mozilla out among the business world because of their open license plan.

The little Firefox that could still has a long way to go considering Internet Explorer from Microsoft controls 86.63% of browser usage and comes out on every PC sold in the U.S. The growing 8.69% Firefox currently controls follows several months of gains totally over 1%. No small task against the big dogs in Seattle.

Mozilla, while doing extremely well and with projections for them continuing to grow still have a very large mountain to climb. Microsoft squeezing through the monopoly trial a few years ago gave them free reign to do as they wanted and with the work on the SAP stuff, no one is terribly interested in stopping or slowing them, at least from the business end of things.
