Apple's latest operating system update won't have support for the widely used Cisco VPN client.
Joint efforts by the router maker and the computer company have not yielded a working VPN client for the 10.4 release.
"We had a goal of having the client operational by the time of the release, but the dates just didn't line up," said Pete Davis, product line manager for remote-access VPNs at Cisco.
Support for the VPN client should be available in a couple of weeks from Cisco. They now recommend that Apple users of Cisco's VPN client stay on the current version of OS X until a fix is available.
