Reports about Nokia conducting a massive changeover to the Mozilla Firefox browser at their headquarters in Sweden have been denied.

Articles appearing on Scandinavian web site indicated Nokia was switching 55,000 desktop computers from Microsoft's Internet Explorer to Firefox. These reports were denounced by Nokia spokesperson Chantal Boeckman, who told LinuxInsider, "The IDG reporter got the information wrong. We have contacted the reporter to correct the situation."

According to the Inquirer, the reports appeared on a Norwegian site, as well as the web site Computer Sweden.

While reports of the changeover may have been false, Nokia is still reported to have interest in blossoming browser. The LinuxInsider article gives further detail by saying

While the mobile device maker denies reports appearing in the press today, it is true that Nokia has been eyeing Firefox for some time.
