A confidential source told me last week Ask Jeeves didn't pay anywhere near the $50 million dollars some speculate they did.
The purchase price will probably be reported at a max of $25 million but it's probably nowhere near that amount in actuality either.
My source tells me that I should remember Ask only paid $4 million for Teoma in 2001. Hinting at the fact that the Butler is a shrewd shopper and the Bloglines acquisition should fall into the "shrewd shopping" category as well.
