Fiat announced the replacement of the CEO of its Maserati sportscar brand, Martin Leach.
Leach will be replaced by Karl Heinz Kalbfell.
"Kalbfell will the take on the responsibility for the 'sportive sector' Alfa Romeo-Maserati, announced last week, that will allow for major business and commercial synergies between the two brands," the company stated.
According to a Forbes article,
"Kalbfell joined Alfa Romeo in January after serving as CEO at Rolls-Royce. Leach, the former head of Ford Motor Co.'s European operations, had been working at Maserati since May.
Fiat announced just last week that it was buying the Maserati sportscar brand from Ferrari - a company in which Fiat has a majority stake. The Turin-based automaker said it was purchasing Maserati in a bid to find technological and commercial synergies to help develop Alfa Romeo."
Fiat also recently severed its partnership with General Motors.
