Boeing Unleashes Longest Range Plane

Boeing has unveiled a plane that can fly further than any other, only a month after Airbus unveiled the world's largest.

The 777-200LR Worldliner can fly 9,420 nautical miles carrying 301 passengers.

"This amazing airplane will connect virtually any two cities in the world with non-stop service," said Boeing CEO Alan Mulally.

"The 777-200LR Worldliner will enable our customers to open new nonstop routes and explore new markets that once could only be accomplished with one or two stops," program manager of the 777 program, Lars Andersen said.

The company is offering a version of the plane specifically for freight as well.

The Worldliner's first flight is to take place in March, and then it will go through 300 hours of ground tests and 500 hours of air tests.

The first new Worldliner is supposed to go to Pakistan International Airlines next January.
