Microsoft announces the official launch of MSN Search today, an event so important to the company ...
... that none other than Bill Gates himself writes us a letter.
"Searching the Internet today is a challenge, and it is estimated that nearly half of customers' complex questions go unanswered. That's why we're proud of our new MSN Search service, a simple and powerful tool that helps you find the answers you want from sources as diverse as Web pages, images, news headlines, music downloads, and even files on your PC."
So Yahoo is kicked to the dirt and MSN promises an aggresive ad campaign to promote the launch.
As expected, MSN, a unit of the software giant, has taken its Web search technology out of the laboratory, and placed it on MSN's newly redesigned home page in 25 countries. Two and a half years in the making, MSN Search will now be the focal point of the updated, lighter-weight site; and it is the subject of Microsoft's newest ad campaign, which includes television, print, Internet and outdoor promotions.
You'll even seen MSN Search commercials during the Super Bowl!
Hat-tip Ben.
