eBay announced that it is going to be raising fees by as much as 60% in some areas.
The higher fees will be involved with eBay's "Buy It Now" items and eBay stores as well as costly items such as automobiles and printing presses.
These will be the first fee changes that eBay has made in a year.
"Whenever we do change prices, our goal is to keep the marketplace vibrant," said a spokesman for eBay.
Fees in the past have never had much of a negative impact on ebay, so more than likely, the new fees won't either.
From Investors.com: "If past is prologue, eBay's services are worth paying up for. The company has continued to attract sellers because of its seemingly ever-growing community of worldwide buyers.
Investors will get a sense of just how well eBay matched those buyers with sellers when the company reports fourth-quarter results after the close of trading on Jan. 19."
The new prices are set to take effect on February 18th.
