The fight for the top of the portable gaming mountain has begun in earnest in Japan. Following up Nintendo's highly anticipated DS launch, Sony has launched their version of a portable gaming system, the PSP. As expected, shoppers braved the cold Tokyo weather for a chance at owning Sony's new system.
According to News.com, the PSP sold for at a discounted price of 19800 (approx $189 USD). The PSP launch is just in time for the holiday season in Japan. However, the PSP will not be available stateside until after the New Year.
Of course, not all American shoppers are willing to wait that long. Reports have Sony's portable system being sold on eBay for over $600.
