Google To Test Animated AdSense Ads
Search engine Google is adding another feature to their AdSense program: animated ads. Displaying this style of ad continues Google's using of images in sites that are AdSense members.
Google introduced image-based ads for AdSense in May.
As reported in DMNews, users who have elected to display image-based ads should begin seeing animated ads "shortly." The initial test group will feature animated gifs, although Google stated that file sizes must remain under 50kb.
Google co-founder Larry Page believes image ads will assist companies eager to improve branding. He also feels that unlike text-based advertising, image ads will attract a much larger base of advertisers.
