Steve Ballmer: Blogging is Huge
Detroit Free Press columnist Mike Wendland reports that Steve Ballmer yesterday had some very enthusiastic things to say about blogging.
Not surprisingly, these remarks preceded the official launch of MSN Spaces, which rolled out last night. For more on Spaces, check out the videos Robert Scoble shot for Channel 9. While I am not trading spaces yet from TypePad, the MSN service sure looks like a typical promising Microsoft 1.0 product. It usually takes Microsoft three tries to get it right so hopefully this will keep TypePad and Blogger on their toes and innovating in time for when Spaces version 3.0 hits.
Here's what Steve B told Wendland ...
"Blogging is huge," he said. "It brings together the three biggest Internet trends: communicating, sharing and socializing. It started with e-mail and instant messaging and music sharing, and it's getting bigger each day."
Ladies and gentleman, it may only be December 2, but Pearl Harbor II is officially underway.
