The Truth About Cheap Turnkey Internet Businesses

The traditional meaning of a "turnkey business" means owning a business which you can start work on immediately... literally as easy as "turning the key".

Unfortunately, some unscrupulous merchants are using the word "turnkey business" to mislead their customers, especially on Ebay.

Go onto Ebay and you will find readymade websites being advertised as "turnkey businesses". The prices range from $10 to $10000 and above, and usually contain advertising phrases such as "Guaranteed $X Income Per Year".

If I were you, I will stay away from those businesses with a 10 foot pole.

Why?

Firstly, what you're getting is not an exclusive business. You're buying copies or readymade clones of the same website.

What it essentially means is that hundreds or even thousands of people before you have bought (or are going to buy) the exact same "business" you're interested in.

Now that's hardly an appealing thought, isn't it? Having a bunch of sites selling the exact same stuff or offering the exact same content as you.

Next, these turnkey websites usually don't tell you the difficult parts about running an online business.

They give you a false impression that "If I build it, they will come."

You got to get this into your head right now - Without good, targeted and quality traffic... your site will be like a fish without water! And even if you manage to capture targeted traffic to your site, how are you going to differentiate it from the others who have bought the same "turnkey business" as you?

Finally, these sites know nuts about marketing. If left on their own, they usually won't sell. I know because I checked a few of them out... and they virtually break all the rules of Internet Marketing.

Of course, if the sites can generate $X worth of income every single year with no work, why the heck will they be selling it to you in the first place?

So the next time you come across someone wanting to sell you a "turnkey" business which can make you money with no work... think twice.

If you're going to take the plunge - Make sure you are offered exclusive rights to the site AND product. Be certain no one else will be able to set up the same site selling the same product anywhere else.

Of course, if these were the kind of terms offered - You would probably have to pay a bomb... And would be better off doing it yourself in the first place!
