Yankee Group named Forum Systems as Winner in Web Services Security Gateway Category

Forum Systems today announced that Yankee Group has named Forum Systems as the "winner" in the Web services security gateway category in an August 2004 report titled "Application Gateways Secure Business Communications" by senior security analyst Eric Ogren.

"Forum Systems has the best Web services security switch on the market today," stated Ogren. "The Forum products work together to protect Web service applications from content violations, unapproved access and poorly formed protocol messages. The high-speed performance of the Forum Systems solution gives the vendor a sustaining advantage."

The report is based on a comprehensive set of interviews with product vendors and enterprise security managers. The purpose of the interviews was to identify the characteristics of leading products, with a focus on whether products had the ability to prevent damage from attacks, scalability, manageability, performance, partnerships within the security industry and noteworthy customer successes.

"We applaud Yankee for its integrated analysis on the evolution of a layered application defense. This is one of the first reports to look at the interactions between SSL VPNs, Messaging Application Gateways, Web application gateways, and XML-based Web services gateways," said Wes Swenson, president and CEO of Forum Systems. "We are honored to be selected as the leader by Yankee and are committed to continuing to add business value to our customers."
