Dogpile Becomes WebFetch

Because of the linguistic implications, Meta search engine Dogpile has decided to change their name to WebFetch. This change is intended for the company's European and UK search sites.

In America, Dogpile will keep the same name, according to an article that appeared in PCPro.com. However, in Europe, the name Dogpile implies another meaning that is related to the use of Pooper-Scoopers.

To celebrate this change, InfoSpace (owners and operators of Dogpile and WebFetch) introduced a new design that features the mascot dog chasing a ball painted as the Union Jack. Thanks to SearchEngineLowdown for the heads-up.
