Digital Impact Purchasing Search Marketing Firm

Digital Impact, a leading email marketing company, announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquire Marketleap, a San Francisco-based Internet marketing firm specializing in search engine marketing services. Marketleap clients include About.com, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Kaiser Permanente and Salesforce.com.

Millions of dollars in ad spending have shifted from banners and email marketing to search marketing over the last few years. This acquisition will enable Digital Impact to enhance its marketing solutions by offering clients search engine optimization, paid inclusion and pay-for-placement solutions.

Under the terms of the agreement, Digital Impact will acquire all of the outstanding equity of Marketleap for $1.5 million in cash and 1.25 million of Digital Impact's shares and options. Marketleap founders may also receive up to 200,000 common shares of Digital Impact stock if certain revenue milestones are met.
