Tommy Lee Jones Meme Probably Fails to Impress Tommy Lee Jones

When Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig performed one of the better pre-award schticks of last night’s Golden Globes, most people in the audience seemed to enjoy it. Ferrell and Wiig’s bit had the two attempting to describe the nominated movies in their category – although it was obvious that neither of them had really seen the movies. At least that was the bit.

Cue an audience shot. It’s Tommy Lee Jones. And he’s not entertained. Or maybe he is, but it’s just how he shows his amusement.

Either way, this image of Jones is now part of the rich meme history of the interwebs after it blew up on Twitter:

Or, if you prefer the GIF:

And thus the “Tommy Lee Jones is not impressed” meme is born.

You can check out the moment that birthed the meme below (at around 3:30).

It was arguably one of the best moments from the entire show – at least the best one not involving a Tina Fey/Amy Poehler joke. Grumpy Tommy Lee Jones, we love you.

I agree with Tommy Lee Jones. I would look like that to If I had to listen to two no talents. What were they trying to be funny? Their the joke, not Tommy.

    • LesPaulFan

I don’t know about them both being talentless. Will Ferrell is hilarious and has talent, but anyone on stage with Kristen Wiig Is going to look bad. She can suck the humor out of just about anything. How she got on SNL will always puzzle me.

I disagree, I thought it was hilarious, it was so ridiculous it was hilarious. It was like a SNL sketch. Some people just don’t have a sense of humor

  • Bastet

I’ll agree with that Big Rob. :)

I agree with Tommy Lee, I didn’t think it was funny either.

I agree with Tommy Lee, they weren’t funny!

I agree with Big Rob, Bastet, and both Bonnies. I didn’t see the poehler/fey clip, but I read the lines. Unfortunately, I SAW the Ferrell/Wiig clip. Not even close to funny. Who’d have ever thought they could make Ricky Gervais funny without him saying a word all night? Tommy, I don’t get along with your politics, but I damn sure agree with the assessment of what you had to endure…worse than waterboarding.

it looks as if Tommy has the look of thought behind what he saw, you can see that in other photos. I personally cannot watch Will Ferrell, don’t know why, just cannot stand to look at him for more than a few minutes at a time, can’t recognize his brilliance somehow………..
