    July 3, 2007

The History Channel has launched two dedicated "Presidents" and "States" microsites at

The "Presidents" site features interactive information on each president including a biography, a timeline that highlights important dates in the President’s life, an image gallery that profile the stages of their lives and a video gallery.

"The stories behind American presidents and the states are a significant part of our nation’s history," said Dr. Libby O’Connell, Sr. Vice President, Corporate Outreach and Chief Historian for The History Channel.

"As we celebrate American Independence Day this 4th of July it is important to understand the history of where we live and recognize the leaders that helped shape the country we call home."

The "States" site provides statistics and facts on each state, an interactive U.S. map, video and images and games related to the states such as "State That Plate" which asks users to identify each state by license plate.
