Taylor Swift “Did Not Fit” At Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

By: Tobias Roth - November 15, 2013

Taylor Swift has been dissed badly by a model who was also a part of the fashion show that Victoria’s Secret held on Wednesday. While some people have said that the country singer had a rocking performance, and stole the show, model Jessica Hart said in an interview at an after-party that the country singer simply did not fit with the event.

Hart is a model for Victoria’s Secret, and while she says that she thinks that Taylor Swift is great, for some reason she just did not feel that Taylor Swift was able to fit in at the fashion show.

Taylor Swift took the stage as the musical entertainment of the evening, and she sang her songs as the models walked down the runway in their sexy outfits. She tried out modeling a bit herself in some extravagant outfits, and was criticized by Hart after the show.

The event was held on Wednesday at the Lexington Armory in New York City. Before she opened up at the after-party to Women’s Wear Daily, the Austrailian model admitted that that Swfit was great, but soon revealed, “I don’t know, to me, she didn’t fit. I don’t know if I should say that. I think what you find is that for a lot of us, we’ve been working for 14, 15 years; what it takes to make it here comes from experience and confidence and knowing how to be confident with yourself. I think it comes with age.”

It is hard to tell where she is coming from with this type of statement, but it does not seem like it would take 15 years to become a model, and Taylor Swift has certainly accomplished a lot in her short career already.

Do you think it was right for Swift to be at the event? Would Taylor Swift be able to pull off being a Victoria’s Secret model? Share your thoughts.

The show will not air until December 10th, when fans will finally be able to judge her performance, but other attendees at the show reported that she sang her song “I Knew You Were Trouble,” and was well-received by the audience.

Taylor Swift has been hailed for her voice throughout her career. On this occasion, she attempted to combine her vocal performance with a modeling stint, and while some people say that she succeeded, Jessica Hart had other things to say about it.

Model Jessica Hart seems to think it takes talent to walk down a runway. She should think about her statement about Taylor Swift’s not fitting in with the Victoria’s models! She probably meant that Ms. Swift didn’t find acceptance in a bunch of girls, widely known for hard drug use, and partying with much older “sugar daddies” I would rather Taylor shunned those drug infested parties, who are full of girls with eating disorders, and drug users. Ms. Swift has too much class and poise to lower her standards to try and fit into a porn feeding industry. Taylor has made more money in her 4-5 years singing, than these jealous girls will make in a life time. Taylor is above those girls in all categories’ poise, class, talent, and any other laudable category you could name.

Also filled with some of the most gorgeous girls in the universe. Do you know anything about modeling? Have you ever heard Cameron Russell, a Victoria’s Secret model and Columbia graduate, speak on the power of image or the select, though arbitrary, kind of knowledge and gift that models have? Do you know what makes a photo, or the craft that photographers dedicate their lives to? Did you know that some of these girls can make or break a magazine, or an industry? Didn’t think so.

I posted this comment on another article, but I’m gonna paste it here because it applies to this one too.

I’m sorry, but this article is way out of line. Why in Gods name would Taylor Swift, one of the most successful singer/songwriters in history, who built her reputation on being a positive role model for young women, decide to sacrifice that career to become a lingerie/fashion model, and alienate a good deal of her fans in the process?

Jessica Hart wasn’t trying to diss Taylor Swift by saying she wouldn’t make a good VS model. If anything, she was paying her a compliment. I’ve read a few of these “VSFS Model Disses Taylor Swift” articles, among others, and it’s sickening to think how many of you Hollywood types are so eager to get Taylor into nothing but a bra and panties for your camera lens, just so you can sell more magazines and boost your ratings.

Taylor has stated repeatedly in interviews that she does not have any interest in doing sexy photo shoots, or promoting herself as a sex symbol, so stop trying to push her into something she doesn’t want to do. She’s not comfortable with it. And even if she was, we fans wouldn’t stand for it.

Most of us have followed her since she was a teenager, or caught up with her teenage years through her video blogs and interviews. Many of us consider her as something akin to a family member, because she is that devoted to her fans.

Taylor didn’t perform at the VSFS because she wants to be a lingerie model, she did it for the exact opposite reason. She did it to prove that she doesn’t need to be half nude to be sexy. And she did it with class, as always.

Kind of a side note, but Taylor has always been a white, Christian figure, whereas Victoria’s Secret, while not the most diverse company, has really accepted an international image, in terms of their models. The models come from different parts of the world, South Africa, Brazil, Australia. They’re also progressive in embracing women’s sexuality. I think putting Taylor in the show was a sanitizing move, and kind of problematic. That would be another reason why she really did not fit in at the show.

They need to get off Taylor’s dick. She killed that fashions show and she damn sure murdered every outfit they made for her. She worked it . She was just as beautiful as the other models . She could be one of those models. I say stop the hate . What god has for you is for you. An opinion is like an ass whole everybody has one, but women need to stick together. Girl power!!!!!!
