  • Tara Reid is striking while the iron is hot. The American Pie actress is capitalizing on the buzz generated by Syfy’s premiere of Sharknado 2: The Second One which aired on Wednesday night. The sequel was actually the channel’s most watched original movie ever, besting even the original Sharknado. So it appears that Reid, who starred in both the original Sharknado and the sequel, is picking the perfect time to launch her new fragrance called Shark by Tara.

The perfume sells for $24.95 and can be purchased directly on Reid’s website. The question is whether the Sharknado-inspired scent smells of seawater and fish.

Apparently not, here’s the description of the fragrance: Shark by Tara is a light and refreshing perfume perfect for day-to-day wear. It also incorporates a plethora of “lavender” colored flowers, which is Tara’s favorite color, making them a true fit for Shark by Tara.

Why is “lavender” in quotes? And what does the color lavender smell like?

The original Sharknado, which aired in July 2013, had 1.4 million viewers, and also tons of social media buzz. The sequel not only brought in almost 4 million viewers on Wednesday night, but 1.8 million of those viewers fell into the highly sought-after 18-49 demo.

If you missed the premiere of Sharknado 2: The Second One, it will re-air on Syfy Saturday, August 2 at 7 pm and then again on Sunday, August 3 at 9 pm. And if you buy Reid’s new perfume, let us know what you think of it in the comments section below.
