Less than a week ago, a company called Pageonce announced that it had hired away the head of Yahoo Finance.  Yahoo Finance doesn’t appear to be in any way floundering in the wake of that change, though, as the property is benefiting from a fresh content deal with Bloomberg.

Yahoo Finance has long been a top property in its field, beating everything even giants like Google and Microsoft could come up with.  Unfortunately for Yahoo, Steve Schultz, the head of Yahoo Finance, found another job this week.

"Unfortunate" isn’t at all the same as "disastrous," of course.  Yahoo Finance didn’t rely on daily or monthly updates to stay ahead of the competition, and Schultz isn’t a household name, so the average user shouldn’t even notice the change.

Playing second fiddle to Yahoo isn’t a position that Google finds itself accustomed to these days, as the company clearly has Yahoo trumped in the realm of search. Finance, however, is a different story for Google as it has struggled to compete with Yahoo in this particular niche.

It’s been nearly nine months since Google launched its finance site upon the Internet world, and it still has yet to make so much as a dent into Yahoo’s lead in this particular market.

Heavily trafficked blogs and sites can participate in the Yahoo Finance advertising test, and receive a day’s worth of promotion on the Yahoo Finance website.

Video content, revamped message boards, and the formal debut of badges that can be used to display Yahoo Finance content on blogs and websites should help the site maintain its dominance in online financial news and information.

A new beta product from Yahoo! Finance, just announced at the Syndicate Conference in New York, provides financial content to websites.
