Kvetch is a site that displays "Kvetches," or funny complaints that are sent to it via Twitter. One "Kvetch" is displayed at a time on the site's home page, and you can either give it a thumbs up or thumbs down.

So much for escaping the "financial bunker" mindset. After a short period of relative peace, we appear to be in the thick of things again, with layoffs taking place at both LinkedIn and Veoh, and less tech-related problems also occurring.

Until somewhat recently, Twitter's site seemed reluctant to stay in working order. The company still lacks an identifiable business plan. And the economy as a whole has been imitating the current president's approval rating. But an encouraging new email hints that at least one small job market might be all right, after all.

A Gold Rush For Twitter Squatters?

There’s no good way to mashup the words Twitter and squatting into anything new and cutesy (a la Twellow, Tweeple, Twapper); the two just don’t mesh well. The proposed rush to secure your or your brand’s Twitter ID to guard against Twitter-squatting might not mesh well to you, either.

Should You Stop Blogging?

Wired has posted an already-controversial article about how blogs are "so 2004", and how services like Twitter, Facebook, and Flickr even are here to replace them. Writer Paul Boutin says:

Thinking about launching your own blog? Here's some friendly advice: Don't. And if you've already got one, pull the plug.

You’ve seen Twitter’s election feature that showed a select kind of tweet in real time. A few minutes ago FriendFeed released a real-time-web feature that lets you watch FriendFeed in real time.

Some small alarms have been raised over the possibility that Twitter and social media like it could be used as information sources for those with nefarious purposes.

Big Company Exploiting Twitter?

Twitter can be gamed too? Who would have thought? If there is a way to get promotion from a popular social site, you know that it will be taken advantage of. It just becomes a matter of competition at some point, perhaps even with people being paid to help with that promotion (right Diggers?).

Last night Twitter launched an Election site that features Tweets involving the presidential and vice presidential candidates rolling in almost faster than you can read them.
Twitter Redesign a Placeholder for Functionality

There's been a lot of redesign talk lately among big names, most notably Facebook and Yahoo!. Twitter announced today that it was rolling out a new design. This design turns out to be pretty much all about aesthetics rather than improved user experience.

Don't worry. If you think the design is missing some things that you would like to see added, Twitter is accepting feedback, and had this to say:

Social media geeks, myself included, have been looking for/waiting for the “Twitter Killer” to emerge over the last few months. While Twitter’s famous crashes seem to have lessened, the stream of consciousness style doesn’t seem to facilitate effective conversations as well as we might hope.

Tweets Of Remembering 9/11

One of the most powerful commemorations is a meme that started up on Twitter and has been happening all day where people are taking 140 characters to share their simple stories of where they were 7 years ago when 9/11 happened.

Remembering 9/11 Across the Web

Today marks the anniversary of one of the darkest days in our country's history. Seven years later, the memories still haunt us, as well as fuel discussion. The web provides an outlet for venting, theorizing, and just plain memorial, and it's as good a platform as any for just that. Nothing has a wider reach.

The News Revolution Started Yesterday

Extinction probably isn’t the right word when it comes to assessing the state of journalism; evolution or revolution might be closer. Yesterday, Internet giants like Google and Yahoo, among others, announced enough traditional news media partnerships (and one citizen journalist partnership) that the volume of them became newsworthy itself.

New CNN Show Based on Twitter

We all know that Twitter is a huge hit with so-called "geeks," but it just may get a big push into mainstream society, thanks to CNN. The news broadcaster has already been incorporating "tweets" into reports, and now anchor Rich Sanchez, a faithful Twitter user, has left a tweet indicating that they would be debuting a new Twitter show today called "Rick Sanchez Direct".

Matt Cutts says his pinging of Twitter cofounder Evan Williams about nofollowing Twitter bio links was more of a heads-up than an imperative straight from the Googleplex.

Twitter Founders Accused Of Bending Over For Google

A bit of a Twitter spat erupted yesterday regarding Twitter making links on bio pages nofollow. Well, a spat would technically need to be two sided; it was more of a rage against the machine* with the machine remaining mostly silent.

More Twitter Services Emerge

You have Twellow as sort of a "Yellow Pages" for Twitter. Now today Robert Balousek has released Twintro, a new tool for finding "interesting" Twitterers.

From the sounds of it, you just get to read tweets from someone that Twintro deems interesting. Balousek describes it on his blog:
