Intervention’s final season will be comprised of five episodes that feature “fan favorites” from the series’ long history. Some of the addiction specialists tapped to return include Jeff Van Vonderen, Candy Finnigan, Donna Chavous and Ken Seeley. A&E says the final season will feature some rather intense episodes.

“As Intervention comes to an end, we’re proud to have paved the way for such an original and groundbreaking series,” said A&E and BIO Channel’s executive vice president of programming David McKillop. “We’re honored to have been a part of the 243 interventions since its premiere in March of 2005, leading to the 156 individuals that are currently sober to this day.”

You may have never watched the series, but one episode from the A&E series became a short lived Internet sensation on the Internet a few years ago when the emotional climax was auto-tuned:

Based on the 2011 film of the same name, Bad Teacher is a single-camera comedy that follows the exploits of a former trophy wife posing as a teacher. The show will star Ari Graynor, who you may know from Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Youth in Revolt, and the TV hit Fringe.

The show will also feature Roseanne and The Talk‘s Sara Gilbert, Sex and the City‘s Kristin Davis, and David Alan Grier.

Based on the hit feature film, BAD TEACHER stars Ari Graynor as an always inappropriate, fearless and unapologetic former trophy wife who masquerades as a teacher in order to find a new man after her wealthy husband leaves her penniless.

CBS recently unveiled their Fall lineup, including a handful of new comedies and dramas. Notable additions include the new show The Crazy Ones, starring Robin Williams and Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s Sarah Michelle Gellar.

In a lengthy interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix’s Content Chief Ted Sarandos hints at just that – possibly doubling Netflix’s content output next year (by the end of 2013, they will have put out 8 new shows).

“It’s feasible that we would double the load that we did this year. People’s tastes are wildly diverse, and I want to be able to appeal to all of those tastes and across demos. Hemlock Grove is totally different from House of Cards. Orange Is the New Black is a very different show. I think we can support a lot of specific tastes,” said Sarandos.

As far as what kind of specific tastes, Sarandos says that sci-fi is a good direction, as is “tween” content.

Also, sitcoms and comedy:

“And then we’re doing quite a bit in the original standup comedy space, too. Bill Burr, for example, is somebody who has had a great cult following, and now his audience is getting so large from him being on Netflix. He is touring in all of the parts of the world where Netflix is, like Norway and Finland, because he has an audience there now. So, we’ll definitely be competitive [with HBO and Showtime] in that space. it’s also a great way to cultivate talent for future scripted projects,” he said.

But as far as original movies go – Sarandos isn’t quite sold on the idea…yet:

“The reason why I’ve shied away from original movies has been that there are so many more great movies that get made than ever get distributed, and I think we function better as a distributor for movies than we do as a creator or marketer of movies for now. But I probably would have said the same thing about TV shows three years ago.”

Pickler won the final round of Dancing With the Stars by out-dancing Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman and actress Zendaya Coleman. Along the way she also survived the competition while stars such as Wynonna Judd, D.L. Hughley, Dorothy Hamill, and Andy Dick. Pickler’s dancing partner on the show was Derek Hough, a four-time winner of the competition and the brother of two-time Dancing With the Stars winner Julianne Hough.

This is not the first experience Pickler has had with reality TV. The country singer first gained fame in 2006 as a contestant on Fox’s American Idol karaoke competition. Since that time, Pickler has gone on to produce several hit country songs, including “Red High Heels” and “I Wonder.” She has also appeared in the pages of Maxim magazine, stripping down in tribute to U.S. soldiers in the magazine’s “Salute to the Military” special issue in 2012.

Pickler was elated with her victory, jumping up and screaming at the announcement. The singer has already taken to Twitter to thank her fans for voting:

The news was tweeted out by series writer/producer Rhett Reese, who went on to say that viewers “hated it out of existence.” Reese also worked on the film of the same name that inspired the Amazon series.

Zombieland was part of big push from Amazon into the original content game, spearheaded by their Amazon Studios division. Back in April, Amazon released 14 pilots (both comedy and kids shows) and asked fans to submit their feedback. Amazon said that fan feedback would determine which pilots were picked up for full series runs, but didn’t go into any more specifics.

The other shows include Alpha House, Betas, Browsers, Dark Minions, Onion News Empire, Supanatural, Those Who Can’t, Annebots, Creative Galaxy, Positively Ozitively, Sara Solves It, Teeny Tiny Dogs, and Tumbleaf.

The Zombieland pilot, which has been available for all Amazon user to stream for just under a month, currently sits with a 3.5 star rating out of 5 with 5,500 reviews. Did you watch the Zombieland pilot? What did you think?

Starting today, subscribers will get access to prior seasons of NBC’s Grimm, Hannibal, and Smash, USA’s Suits and Covert Affairs, and SyFy’s Defiance, Alphas, Eureka, and Warehouse 13.

Compelling shows like Covert Affairs, Defiance, Grimm, Hannibal and Suits are big wins for our customers and we look forward to adding more titles soon.”

The deal also bring a couple of kids shows to Kindle FreeTime Unlimited – Curious George and The Land Before Time.

Earlier this year, Amazon Prime added Food Network and Travel Channel shows, as well as FX’s hit series Justified and PBS’ Downton Abbey (which they nabbed exclusive rights to, snatching it away from Netflix and Hulu). Last month, Amazon released a series of pilots produced by Amazon Studios. Viewer feedback will determine which of the 14 shows are given a full run.

According to an obituary in the Hollywood Reporter, Weaver died at his home in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 9. The cause of his death has not been released.

Weaver began his career at WCBS in New York, and then moved on to become a producer for Children’s Television Workshop. There he was involved in creating classic kids shows such as Sesame Street, The Electric Company, and 3-2-1 Contact.

He joined The Bold and the Beautiful in 1986 as an associate producer, helping to launch the soap opera. During his 27 years with the show he rose to become a senior producer and eventually vice president of BBL Distribution. He, along with other The Bold and the Beautiful producers, received three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series during his time with the show.

“There was a bit of a scandal with the first billboards,” says Hewitt. “There was another one of me laying down in nude sort of bra and panties, and everybody loved it, watched the show…everybody was happy. There was one group of people who apparently were offended by the billboard, and were not into it….We still don’t know who it was. It happened in a magazine, but we don’t know who did the actual fixing of the photo, but they didn’t ask anybody if they could do it. They covered me up, and they actually made me like a cup and a half size smaller, and then covered everything.”

Conan noted that this was “un-American”.

Hewitt mentioned that nearby was a billboard of David Beckham in his underwear. “Like couldn’t have had a bigger situation in that billboard,” she said, “And he’s out there like ‘Hello!’…I had to have smaller boobs. It was very strange.”

The CW revival of the series, which started in the late 90′s and ran for 8 seasons on ABC, brings back Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, and Colin Mochrie – but has replaced the host. In the new version comedian Aisha Tyler is filling in for Drew Carey. The new series will feature a “special guest” for each episode, and will consist of ten 30-minute shows.

Impressions? Well, Colin and Ryan look a bit older, but other than that the performers don’t seem to have lost a step – even when they’re being forced to use 90210 as source material. And Laura Hall is back!
