Apple CEO Steve Jobs thinks Google’s television efforts with Google TV are going to fail. At least that’s the impression he gave earlier in the week, speaking at All Things Digital’s D8 conference when an audience member asked him about TV.

Bing Becomes iPhone Search Option

Although Steve Ballmer did not, as some outlandish rumors asserted he would, make an appearance at WWDC 2010 today, Steve Jobs did say something important concerning Microsoft’s search engine.  Jobs indicated that Bing will now be an official search option on the iPhone.

Steve Jobs starred in the latest episode of the soap opera about Adobe, Apple, and the future of Flash. He appeared at the All Things Digital  D8 Conference, discussing a variety of topics, but of course the subject of Flash came up.

Apple iPad Tops 2 Million In Sales

Apple said Monday iPad sales have surpassed two million in less than 60 days since its launch on April 3.

Apple began shipping iPad in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK this past Friday. iPad is set to launch in nine more countries in July and additional countries later this year.

"Customers around the world are experiencing the magic of iPad, and seem to be loving it as much as we do," said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.

iPad Wi-Fi Issue? Apple says: “Adjust your screen brightness”

Apple has updated a support document, which details some of the much-publicized Wi-Fi connectivity issues surrounding the iPad. In the document, Apple states “a very small number of iPad users have experienced issues with Wi-Fi connectivity” they even give out a few possible workarounds for anyone having Wi-Fi issues.

Apple Sells a Million iPads in a Month

Apple announced that it has already sold over a million iPads. The millionth device was sold on Friday, which was the day the 3G version was launched, and only 28 days after the first ones were introduced on April 3.

In addition to the million plus devices sold, users have also downloaded over 12 million apps from the App Store and over 1.5 million eBooks.

Apple Posts Best Non-Holiday Quarter Ever

Apple has posted its financial results for Q2 (ending March 27). These include revenue of $13.50 billion and net quarterly profit of $3.07 billion (or $3.33 per diluted share). As a comparison, for the same quarter last year, the company posted $9.08 billion and net quarterly profit of $1.62 billion, (or $1.79 per diluted share).

ChaCha Takes On Steve Jobs Mobile Search Comments

Apple CEO has made comments recently implying that people aren’t searching much with their phones. When Jobs announced iAds, Apple’s new mobile advertising platform, for example, he said something along the lines of "people aren’t searching on their phones." WebProNews received an email on behalf of ChaCha who apparently doesn’t take too kindly to Jobs’ implications (the title of the email was "500 million issues with Steve Jobs").

Apple iPad Coming To U.S April 3

Apple said today its much anticipated iPad device will be available in the U.S. on Saturday, April 3, for Wi-Fi models and in late April for Wi-Fi + 3G models.

All models of iPad will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K. in late April.

Beginning March 12, U.S. customers can pre-order both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi +3G models from Apple’s online store or reserve a Wi-Fi model to pick up on Saturday, April 3, at an Apple retail store.

Steve Jobs took the stage in San Francisco today to announce what he referred to as a "magical, truly revolutionary product."

After talking up Apple’s history and how many iPods they’ve sold and apps they have in the app store, Jobs began talking about the need for a product between the laptop and the smartphone – something that would be better at things like browsing, email, photos, video, music, games, and eBooks. He took a shot at netbooks saying they weren’t better than anything (knocking their speed, displays, and software), and then unveiled the iPad.

Google’s CEO Leaves Apple’s Board Of Directors

This morning, a strong tie between Google and Apple was dissolved.  Google’s CEO, Eric Schmidt, resigned from Apple’s board of directors.

This development doesn’t necessarily mean that Google and Apple are becoming hostile.  The two companies have been good corporate friends for many years, with Schmidt serving on Apple’s board of directors since August of 2006.

Steve Jobs Receives Liver Transplant

Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs received a liver transplant about two months ago and is expected to return to the company by the end of June.

Jobs underwent the liver transplant operation at a hospital in Tennessee, according to the Wall Street Journal. He has been on medical leave from Apple since January and when he returns to the company he may initially work part-time.

Steve Jobs To Be Back at Apple in June

Steve Jobs, who has on separate occasions been reported dead and to have had a heart attack (neither of which were true), said goodbye to Apple back in January. He took a leave of absence from the company due to well-publicized health issues.

Upon his departure, Jobs wrote a letter to the Apple staff. In it, he wrote:

Before Apple’s shareholder meeting began today in Cupertino, Calif., members of the press were upset about it being more of a “prevent” than an event. Apple barred the press from live-blogging or even carrying laptops or smartphones into the meeting—the gag rule didn’t apply to shareholders themselves apparently.
