Woods readied his next shot before Garcia was finished, and when the crowd saw him take out his club, they erupted into cheers, which interfered with his own shot.

“You have to pay attention to what’s going on because the other guy is hitting. You do something when you’re in the crowd and the crowd is going to respond,” an irritated Garcia said.

Woods defended his actions by saying he’d been given the go-ahead: “The marshals, they told me he already hit, so I pulled a club and was getting ready to play my shot, and then I hear his comments afterward and it’s not real surprising that he’s complaining about something,” he said.

But marshall Gary Anderson says that never happened.

“He didn’t ask us nothing, and we didn’t say nothing. We’re told not to talk to the players,” Anderson said.

While it’s no secret that Woods and Garcia don’t like each other, this little tiff involves other people who never asked to be, and this is just another hit to Woods’ already questionable character.

“Nothing was said to us and we certainly said nothing to him,” chief marshall John North said. “I was disappointed to hear him make those remarks. We’re there to help the players and enhance the experience of the fans. He was saying what was good for him. It lacked character.”

Other sports agents have worried that Jay-Z’s name and media experience could lure away big clients, and it appears they were right to worry. A report on NBC Sports this week stated that New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith has taken a meeting with Roc Nation, in addition to other agencies.

Citing “a source with knowledge of the situation,” the NBC report states that Smith, who is looking for new representation, met with Joel Segal, Priority Sports, Eugene Parker, Fletcher Smith, and Roc Nation. Jay-Z is not yet a certified sports agent, and was not the Roc Nation representative who gave the company’s presentation to Smith.

Smith has not publicly commented on his agent shopping. Unless, that is, his latest (bizarre) tweet is some sort of code and not simply a mistake:

The Guardian has also confirmed the news with Manchester United, and reports that Moyes will start after his completing his season with Everton. His first official game will reportedly be the Community Shield against either Manchester City or Wigan at Wembley on August 11th. The report quotes Moyes:

“I know how hard it will be to follow the best manager ever, but the opportunity to manage Manchester United isn’t something that comes around very often and I’m really looking forward to taking up the post next season.”

Ferguson, who as won 38 trophies for the club, will become a director and ambassador for it. He is 71 years old.

In a radio interview on the Dan Patrick show, the subject of Jason Collins, who recently came out as the first openly gay NBA player, and gay players in the NBA became a topic. Barkley said he, and pretty much every other player, had played with a gay teammate during their time in the league:

Everybody did. Everybody played with a gay teammate, Dan. And it’ s no big deal. First of all, I think it’s an insult to gay people to think that they’re trying to pick up on their teammates. But everybody has played with a gay teammate… It’s obviously discussed, privately, because the problem is, Dan, unless somebody tells you they’re gay, you can’t say a thing about them being gay. Ya know, until somebody has the courage, and I think it takes great courage to come out, it’s kind of an unspoken word to be honest with you.

He used Collins to back up his claim saying that the Wizards center had played with six teams, so by extension, players on those six teams had played with a gay teammate. He also said that nobody knows a teammate is gay until they come out because “it’s none of your business.”

Of course, the two made it official in March when they posted photos of themselves on Facebook to tell the world that they are, in fact, dating. But seeing them out together is a whole different media ballgame.

Woods released a statement about the pairing on the social media site, saying, “This season has been great so far and I’m happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral. Something nice that’s happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn,” the star athlete captioned the album—which features four perfectly posed pics of the happy couple—on his social media page. “Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes.”

The couple glowed on the red carpet last night, with Vonn wearing a cream-colored floor-length gown with sheer panels and Woods going for the traditional black-tie look.

I’m not sure that Tim Tebow has even been penalized for this before, despite doing it all the time (though he has drawn taunting flags in the past).

The University Interscholastic League, responsible for handing out the penalty, has issued a statement on the matter, saying:

The UIL is composed of four geographic regions across the state of Texas, each of which are divided into six conferences in UIL track and field. A total of 24 regional track meets are held statewide and conducted by local meet officials, selected by regional sites.

The UIL takes situations such as these very seriously, and is continuing to investigate the matter fully.

According to an NFL.com report, casual speculation by an agent on a Miami radio program sparked rumors that Tebow could end up playing for the Miami Dolphins. The flimsy reasoning behind this guess was that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is a fan of the quarterback.

Now, the Tebow/Dolphins rumor seems to have been definitively put to rest. Miami Herald columnist Armando Salguero today tweeted out a quote from an unnamed “high ranking Dolphins source” that states the Tebow rumors are “totally untrue.”

So, there is still no one who knows what’s next for Tebow, though the Arena League and the Lingerie League have both made offers for the quarterback.

Tebow himself has not commented on any of the rumors surrounding his career. His most recent Twitter posts indicate that he is leaving his fate in the hands of his god:

The 61-year-old Porras suffered a heart attack at Turner Field in Atlanta on Wednesday while setting up his equipment. Nationals Head Trainer Lee Kuntz and Nationals Assistant Coach John Hsu were reportedly able to revive the cameraman in the off-field media room where the incident occurred. They performed CPR and used an automated defibrillator until medical personnel arrived.

According to a Comcast Sportsnet report on the event, Kuntz was informed later that Porras had died at an Atlanta hospital. Kuntz stated that this was the first time he had to use CPR during his job, though the entire Nationals staff receives CPR training each year.
