Facebook won a restraining order against notorious spam king Samford “Spamford” Wallace in US District Court, a victory that, if history is any indication, is mostly symbolic.
Remember Sanford Wallace? A little less than a year ago, MySpace won a lawsuit against him after filing it about a year earlier based on a phishing scheme carried out six months before that. He created profiles, groups, and forums on MySpace to lead users to his sites.
MySpace has won a lawsuit against well-known spammer Sanford Wallace.The social networking site won a legal judgment against Wallace after he ignored requests to hand over documents and failed to appear in court.MySpace filed the suit in March of last year alleging that beginning in October 2006 Wallace carried out a phishing scheme to falsely gain access to MySpace user profiles. Wallace created profiles, groups, and forums on the site to lead users through deceptive means to Web sites operated by Wallace.
