Just under two weeks ago, T-Mobile announced at long last, they were finally going to carry the iPhone 5. At the time, interested customers to pre-register for their device.

Today, official pre-orders begin. You can access all the iPhones that T-Mobile offers here.

The 16GB iPhone 5 starts at $99.99, with a monthly payment of $20 per month got 24 months. Without the plan, it’ll cost $579.99 up front. The 32GB iPhone with with run $199.99 with a 2-year plan, $679.99 without. And the 64GB device will cost $299.99 with the plan and $779.99 without.

The phone will ship on April 12th.

Also, if you want a cheaper option, T-Mobile is offering the iPhone 4S for $69.99 down and $20 per month for 24 months and the iPhone 4 for $14.99 down and $15 per month for 24 months.

“This is an important day for people who love their iPhone but can’t stand the pain other carriers put them through to own one,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile USA when he announced the addition. “We feel their pain. I’ve felt the pain. So we’re rewriting the rules of wireless to provide a radically simple, affordable iPhone 5 experience — on an extremely powerful network.”

Speaking of pain, plenty of T-Mobile customers painfully waited for the company to offer the iPhone 5. As you probably know, T-Mobile was the last of the major U.S. carriers to offer the device, trailing AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint.

Apple’s App Store went down early this morning, but it wasn’t because of the T-Mobile addition. When buying an iPhone via the Apple online Store, T-Mobile has yet to be included as an option.

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 is one of the most anticipated smartphone launches of the year, and AT&T wants consumers to know that it will be the first carrier to start offering the device. In fact, consumers can start preordering it next month.

AT&T announced today that Galaxy S 4 preorders will start on April 16. If you go for a two-year contract, the price will come in at $250. There’s no mention of the off contract price, but expect it to be expensive.

There’s no word on when the phone will actually launch, but you can probably expect to see it in May. That’s at least what T-Mobile thinks as the company’s CEO said the device would be launching on its network on May 1. If true, we could see a late April launch on AT&T.

There has been nothing but radio silence from the other carriers in regards to their Galaxy S 4 plans. You can probably expect to see a Verizon launch not soon after the AT&T launch though. The price should remain pretty consistent across all carriers as well.

If you’re dead set on getting the Galaxy S 4 with AT&T, you can set up shop at the carrier’s landing page. You can also give ‘em your email address so you know exactly when preorders open for the new device.

Earlier this week, THQ and 4A Games released a fairly dark trailer to promote the upcoming Metro: Last Light. If the game’s tone can manage to match that of the trailer, the new Metro game will be quite a moody experience.

Today, THQ confirmed that Last Light, like every other title these days, will be getting pre-order bonuses. Gamers who pre-order the game will automatically getting the Limited Edition version of the game for the same $60 price. Limited Edition is the version of Last Light that will be sold initially, so a pre-order isn’t necessary, but is sufficient, to get the extra content.

The Limited Edition will include “Ranger Mode” difficulty – an harder mode where players are more easily killed but do extra (realistic) damage with their weapons. Also, players will get access to the modified AKS-74U assault rifle and extra “military-grade” bullets that do more damage, but also serve as the game’s currency.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, THQ also announced that PlayStation 3 owners will get their own, exclusive pre-order bonuses. Gamers who purchase the digital edition of Metro: Last Light through the PlayStation network will get a PlayStation 3 theme and a free copy of THQ’s Homefront.

Also, anyone can still grab a free copy of the PC version of the original Metro 2033 by “Liking” the Metro Facebook page.

Last month, Crytek released a look at how the multiplayer aspect of Crysis 3 is shaping up. The game currently supports up to 12 simultaneous players on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 and up to 16 on the PC. Game modes include Crash-Site and Hunter Mode, which pits two hunters against a larger group of troopers, who also become hunters after their death.

Hunter Mode is the subject of of the latest trailer, though the focus is on the pre-order bonuses players can get that will give them an advantage in the multiplayer mode. Unfortunately, Crytek and EA are giving pre-orderers a leg up on those who simply purchase the game. It’s not just extra maps for pre-orderers, like Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is giving out – it’s equipment designed to give pre-orderers an advantage.

Pre-orderers will have the Predator Bow skin for their bow immediately unlocked, which allows players to fire while cloaked. They also get immediate access to the Recon Arrow, which gives players “advanced optical recognition.” The Hunter Nanosuit Module will be unlocked at launch for them, allowing their suit to make no noise while moving and muffling their footsteps. Pre-orderers will also begin their multiplayer journey at level 5, obviously giving them a head start on the competition who didn’t pre-order. These things won’t be much of an advantage in the long run (or even after a single week), but they’re sure to frustrate at least a few players when the game launches.

So, if you plan on playing plenty of Crysis 3 multiplayer, you’re going to want to remember to pre-order the game. Of course, Crysis 3 is one of those titles currently scheduled for “February 2013,” which is basically a placeholder timeframe to let investors know the game won’t be out for the holidays. Expect a “delay” announcement when development on the game nears completion.

In a holiday season filled with Assassin’s Creed III, Far Cry 3, and Hitman: Absolution trailers, there has been surprisingly little video released concerning Gears of War: Judgment since its announcement at this year’s E3.

Now that Halo 4 has been released, however, it appears that Epic sees the chance to finally promote its Xbox 360 exclusive, scheduled to hit store shelves on March 19, 2013. Today the company released a trailer showing off a bit of the pre-order bonuses that will be available. For starters, customers who pre-order Gears of War: Judgment will receive the classic hammerburst assault rifle as an in-game weapon.

Judgment will be the first Gears of War title not shepherded into the market by former Epic Games Design Director Cliff Bleszinski. Bleszinski, who had been a part of Epic for over two decades, left the company back in October to move on to the “next stage of his career.”

Either due to its popularity or due to manufacturing delays (probably a combination of both) pre-orders for the Wii U sold out in a manner of days and are now nearly impossible to find. Nearly, but not impossible.

Anyone still needing to find a Wii U for the holidays can find one, but it will cost them. Intrepid entrepreneurs are now trying to hock their pre-orders via eBay and are charging ridiculous amounts to do so. Sellers are charging as much as $1,000 for the black 32 GB deluxe version of the Wii U. The original price for the deluxe version of the Wii U, which comes with a larger hard drive, the NintendoLand videogame, and a charging cradle for the GamePad, is $350.

Of course, no one seems to be jumping at the systems being sold for $1,000. The current highest price for a Wii U pre-order that is actively being bid on at this time seems to be $500, as seen above. Ars Technica points out that a Wii U pre-order did sell back on September 27th for $749, the highest so far.

These amounts could easily creep higher, though, as Christmas approaches and parents begin to get desperate to please their young gamers. So, perhaps those sellers price gouging for $1,000 actually know what they are doing, and believe that if they hold their ground until the Wii U’s November 18th release date they will find themselves with an extra $1K for their foresight.

Today was finally it. iPhone 5 day. Customers who had been waiting in lines outside of Apple stores were finally able to enter and receive their new most-prized possession. But, wait – isn’t that deja vu we’re all feeling? Hasn’t this all happened before? Indeed, it has, but if you think the hype for the iPhone 5 compares to that of the iPhone 4S, think again.

Apple today told the Wall Street Journal that the iPhone 5 has far surpassed any previous models in terms of pre-orders. The initial shipment of the devices was sold out in one hour, and it was revealed later that Apple sold 2 million pre-orders during that first day.

Digital marketing research firm comScore compared the numbers compared the numbers revealed in the WSJ article to the numbers they have for iPhone 4S sales from October 2011. It turns out that during its first three days of availability, the number of iPhone 5 online U.S. pre-orders were nearly as high as the number of iPhone 4S’ sold in its first month.

This isn’t particularly surprising, given that analysts last month predicted Apple could eventually sell as many as 250 million iPhone 5s. It’s just a reminder of the powerful branding Apple has in the smartphone market, and how that power is continuing to grow, despite increased competition.

Best Buy today sent out emails to some customers who pre-ordered the iPhone 5 from their stores, informing them that they might not actually be receiving the device for quite some time.

9 to 5 Mac also obtained a copy of a Best Buy internal memo that states: “Based on current inventor allocation, we understand we will not have enough iPhone 5 devices to fulfill all pre-orders this weekend.” It goes on to say that Best Buy is dedicated to getting the iPhone’s into customers’ hands “no later than 28 days from launch.”

The email sent to customers took a decidedly more personal tone than the memo, calling the customer by name and using empathetic language. A screenshot of an email provided by a 9 to 5 Mac reader read:

I know that you’re excited to get your new iPhone 5 and you can be sure we are as excited to sell it to you. Unfortunately, as of the night before the official launch, Best Buy has not received enough of the specific model phone you ordered, and we will not have it available on launch day. You can be certain that we are working very hard to get you, as quickly as possible, the exact iPhone 5 model you pre-ordered. It could take as long as 28 days to find the iPhone you want. However, there is no doubt that the fact you pre-ordered a phone from Best Buy means you will be able to buy it before any consumer trying to find one on their own.

Trust us, we will be able to get you the phone you want – maybe not as fast as you might want, but likely as fast as anyone else at this point.

I really appreciate your patience and willingness to shop Best Buy. We look forward to getting you the phone you ordered with us.

So, did Apple promise Best Buy more iPhone 5s than they delivered, or has Best Buy been selling pre-orders to customers without knowing whether they would be able to fulfill them? Well, consider that this isn’t the first time iPhones at Best Buy haven’t been available on launch day. According to Consumer Reports, the company pulled the same move last year, and some customers ended up having to wait weeks for their iPhone 4S.

Today, Apple has done something that puts the company in rarified air. In after hours trading, the company briefly broke the $700 barrier following the news that the iPhone had (unexpectedly) become the fastest-selling iPhone of all time.

Apple’s share price closed today at $699.78, up $8.50 (1.23%). But in after hours trading, the price has breached $700 a couple of times. As it sits, Apple’s market cap is $655.98 billion.

Last Friday, Apple opened up pre-orders on the new iPhone 5, and Apple reported that initial stock had sold out within hours. Before most people in the U.S. has even woken up, shipping dates slipped from September 21st to September 28th. On that day, Apple stock soared over 13% and flirted with $700 – but it never broke the barrier. Today, Apple can say that they’re part of an elite club that includes companies like Google and Berkshire Hathaway.

Earlier this morning, Apple announced that the iPhone 5 had shattered the first day pre-order record by selling over 2 million devices in 24 hours. The previous record belonged to the iPhone 4S, which sold 1 million units on the first day of pre-orders. AT&T also announced that the iPhone 5 had broken their records for iPhone pre-orders.

“iPhone 5 is the best iPhone yet, the most beautiful product we’ve ever made, and we hope customers love it as much as we do,” said Apple’s VP of Marketing Phil Schiller. Apparently, there are plenty of people who have confidence that the iPhone 5 will be Apple’s biggest product yet.

Apple set all kinds of sales records last week when the latest iPhone sold out in less than an hour. The Apple faithful are once again proving their power as some of the biggest consumer groups in the nation. While not as impressive, a certain Kyoto-based company also sold out its initial stock of pre-orders this weekend.

Retailers across the nation began to take pre-orders for Nintendo’s Wii U last Thursday. By Friday afternoon, many retailers had already sold through their initial allotment of the deluxe edition of the console that retails for $349.99 and comes with a copy of Nintendo Land. The $299.99 basic model is still available at some stores, but it’s going fast.

GameStop was the first to go out of stock of the deluxe set. We spoke to a GameStop employee who said they received an email on Friday telling them to stop taking pre-orders on the deluxe set. The basic set may still be available, but you should call your local GameStop before making the trip. The GameStop Web site lists both console SKUs as being sold out.

Other major retailers like Best Buy are sold out of both the deluxe and basic model. This is reflected on their Web site, and it’s unlikely that they’ll get more stock before launch. Other major retailers like Toys R Us, Target and Sears are also sold out of the highly anticipated console. Unfortunately, Amazon is still not taking pre-orders at this time.

Selling out of initial stock may look good now, but it’s hard to tell if this is an indication of the Wii U’s overall health. Nintendo may be intentionally limiting stock to create the illusion of scarcity. The console selling out in a matter of days definitely makes it look like something that everybody must have for the holiday season. We also don’t know if the pre-orders are coming from the die-hard Nintendo faithful, or the casual players that made the original Wii such a success.

Either way, now is the time to get a pre-order for the Wii U in. You probably missed out on the deluxe set if you haven’t pre-ordered now, but many retailers still have the basic set available. With the basic set, you’re just missing out on increased storage space and a free game. It’s not that big of a loss.
