What happened to Collier could happen to all of us. You see a nice picture on Facebook of a group of people and you think “oh, that’s lovely. I like that!” and so you like it. But lurking in the shadows are exposed testicles.

“Sneaky nuts” is a prank that involves sneakily showing one’s balls in a photograph, you know, by putting them through the zipper or something at the last minute. It’s kind of like a photobomb, but with your balls. Yeah, it’s not the internet’s best moment for sure.

Collier, a Liberal member of the Western Australian Legislative Council who currently serves Minister for Energy; Training and Workforce Development, says that he was simply tricked by a sneaky photo.

Hence the “sneaky nuts” part:

“At first glance it appeared to be a harmless picture. It was a silly mistake on my part. I only became aware of the actual content of the photo when shown by a journalist…This obviously highlights the pitfalls of social media. I apologise if I caused any offense,” said Collier in a statement.

The apology wasn’t enough for Labor Party MP sue Ellery, who has called for an investigation.

“This is a man who is a senior minister in charge of the professional standards of dealing with young people and young people’s use of social media,” she said.

It looks like politics are the same no matter where you go.

Apparently, some Google execs decided to mess with co-founder Sergey Brin’s car earlier this week. They proceeded to transform his Tesla Model S into a pink batmobile, complete with headlight eyelashes, batwings, and a giant batman logo.

Awesome.

Google search quality analyst Nathan Johns posted a photo of the reconfigured Tesla Model S. Barry Schwartz over at Search Engine Roundtable tracked down a thread on the Tesla Motors Club forums that confirms that the pink batmobile Tesla is most likely Brin’s ride.

This is funny, and it’s made even funnier when you remember all of that “Sergey Brin is Batman” stuff that started flying around Google HQ a couple of years ago surrounding developments in Google X.

The new SEO tags cut out the middleman and let you insert a couple of tags into your page code that direct Bing as to where to place you on results pages. There are two new tags, “set to position” and “must be before.”

Now you can make sure that your page always ranks on spot ahead of your competitor’s page. It’s so easy!

Along the way, some SEOs abused the systems to try to game the results. Back and forth for years, the engines and so-called “black hat” SEOs have waged a behind-the-scenes battle to position content on the Search Results pages. It’s pretty easy for the engine to win this battle in the long run, though, as we own the pages.

As time has progressed, we’ve been able to tackle spamming issues at many levels. In most cases today, most websites follow the known best practices and simply do the right thing. They’re too busy running a business to try trickery to rank better, trusting we will sort the rankings properly. And now it’s time to reward that trust and your hard work.

For a year, you’ll only be able to use one “must_be_before” tag, so choose wisely. Bing says that next April 1st, they’ll give you 50!

“To ensure compliance with this request, should you insert more than one “must_be_before” tag this year, we’ll simply contact your host and arrange for the server hosting your site to be put into a low-earth orbit for the following 365 days.”

Today, Twitter has “announced” Twttr, the new no-vowel Twitter service that will now become the default service for all users.

If you want your vowels back, you’re going to have to pay $5 a month.

“We’re doing this because we believe that by eliminating vowels, we’ll encourage a more efficient and “dense” form of communication. We also see an opportunity to diversify our revenue stream,” says Twitter.

Don’t worry – you still get the letter “y.”

“Because our users come first, we believe that ‘Y’ should always be free to everyone — today and forever. You’ll notice in the Twttr example above, the ‘y’ is clearly visible. Also, the vowels in URLs will be also be free for everyone, forever. You can also Tweet in non-Latin characters based languages, like Japanese, Chinese, Arabic or Korean. These languages will remain unaffected by our service change.”

Yikes. Twitter is already a minefield when it comes to navigating grammar – forcing 140 characters makes even the best of us resort to devious tactics. But no vowels? The mere thought is nightmare-inducing.

Alongside the no-vowel prank, Twitter also says that they’ve expanded Promoted Tweets to 141 characters, for an additional fee. One extra character is it, though. Don’t try to buy two.

Good thing this one is only a joke. If you want to get in an the fun, write your no-vowel tweets and include the hashtag #nvwls. Or, if you’ve decided to pay the fee to get your vowels back, you can tweet using the #icanhasvowels hashtag.

The Associated Press is reporting that a 12-year-old boy has been arrested for making a prank call to 911 about a school shooting in a small Minnesota town.

The student reportedly made the prank call at around 8 am, telling dispatchers that there was a shooter in New Prague Middle School. The boy is alleged to have said the make-believe shooter was carrying an AK-47.

The call resulted in the middle school and other schools in the area being cleared out, and students were eventually given the day off.

Today, CBS News is reporting that a 12-year-old boy has admitted to sending police to the home of Ashton Kutcher. Though the boy’s name has not been released, he is now scheduled to be sentenced for his crime.

The practice of making false 911 calls of bombs or shootings to bring police to celebrity houses has been dubbed “swatting,” since S.W.A.T. teams are sometimes dispatched to the scene. In addition to Kutcher and Bieber, celebrities including Simon Cowell, Miley Cyrus, Tom Cruise, Chris Brown, and the Kardashians have been recent victims of swatting.

The CBS report states that the same 12-year-old has also been accused of sending police to Justin Bieber’s house and a bank.

Now, those pranksters are back with an even more terrifying elevator prank. This time, unsuspecting riders are shocked by a reanimated corpse. Yeah, it’s pretty brutal. Remind me to never ride an elevator in Brazil. Ever.

Jose Barrientos decided to make his low-level course more exciting by pulling an elaborate prank on his classmates. For months, Jose spoke in a “mexican” accent. He even gave all of his required speeches in said accent.

The only thing is that Jose doesn’t really have any such accent. What he does have is patience and dedication to the joke. Check out the prank (complete with the big reveal and reaction) below:

Either way, it would probably be shocking to these Apple enthusiasts if an Apple Store employee showed up with a half dozen boxes full of the new iPhone on a dolly and proceeded to shatter them all in a catastrophic accident.

The pranksters at AwesomenessTV decided to test this out by staging that exact scenario outside multiple Apple Stores.
