Blockbuster To Offer Movies On TiVo

Blockbuster said today it would start offering movies and TV shows over TiVo's DVRs.
Users will have access to about 10,000 movies and TV shows that can be purchased or rented on TiVo Series 2, Series 3 or HD series device. Films on Blockbuster's OnDemand service will be available for $2 to $4 for rental and purchased movies start at around $10.
Warner Launches On Demand Service For Classic Films
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group (WBHEG) has announced it has launched an on - demand DVD and digital downloading service offering movies from its library before 1986.
At WarnerArchive.com, movie fans can choose from more than 150 classic titles that have never been available on DVD or for digital download. Some of the titles include Academy Award nominee "Sunrise at Campobello," "The Citadel," and "Mr. Lucky."
Disney To Offer Full-Length Movies Online

Disney.com said today the site will stream full-length movies online for the first time in the company's history. The films will first be broadcast on ABC as part of the network's weekly Wonderful World of Disney feature on Saturday nights throughout the summer. The full-length movies will be available for free streaming the week after they air on the network.
DVD Sales Strong Despite Competition

Even with competition from Internet-based movie services, cable and satellite on- demand, and digital cinema, the DVD continues to attract most of the consumer spending on movies, according to the 2007 Annual Report on the Home Entertainment Industry out today.
