Mobile TV Popular Among Males

When it comes to the smallest screen, Mobile TV is a hit with males under the age of 35, according to a new study from comScore. The study found that close to two out of three Mobile TV subscribers are male.

Mobile TV was found to be most popular among 25-34 year olds, as they have a high level of interest and acceptance of the medium. Forty-six percent of those who currently subscribe to Mobile TV are below the age of 35, and 65 percent are male. Males were more likely than average to have an interest in Mobile TV, while females were more likely to have little interest.

Yahoo Unveils Major Mobile Initiative

Yahoo’s not screwing around with the mobile market. Judging from the string press releases coming out of Sunnyvale, they mean business. The company launched a major initiative today across 19 countries, called Mobile Publisher Services, to better enable content providers to distribute and monetize their wares.

And of course, Yahoo gets a nice chunk of that pie.

NBC Universal, MobiTV Team Up For Wireless Deal

The battleground for the third screen continues as NBC Universal and MobiTV team up to offer on-demand programming to wireless customers. Users will be able to take in shows featured on NBC, USA Network, Sci-Fi Channel, Telemundo and other NBCU properties as well.
