Dolphins CEO Mike Dee appeared on the news station on Sunday, stating that the Dolphins organization and team owner Stephen Ross in particular were not prepared to fund the proposed $350 million in renovations themselves.

“From the get-go we had looked at this as a comprehensive modernization, not a band-aid, not a quick fix,” said Dee. “I wouldn’t want to prognosticate what the future holds, but it’s clearly bleak.”

Dee went on to blame Florida House Speaker Will Weatherford for failing to bring the bill up for a vote. He characterized Sun Life stadium’s state as “desperate” and intimated that, though Ross isn’t interested in moving the Dolphins, a future sale could mean Miami losing its NFL team.

The Miami Herald is reporting that Opa-locka police Sgt. German Bosque attended an appeals hearing on Wednesday, where an arbitrator heard testimony to determine his fate as a police officer.

According to the Opa-locka police department, Bosque had left his police-issued AR-15 assault rifle with the father of his girlfriend, a violation of a 2008 settlement that allowed him to continue working as a police officer. The department is attempting to fire Bosque for the sixth time.

Bosque, who was fired in October, was defended at the hearing by the Miami-Dade Police Benevolent Association, which argued that Bosque had left the gun in a locked warehouse that only he and his girlfriend’s father had access to. Bosque is hoping that, once again, he will be reinstated with back pay.

According to the Herald report, Bosque has been accused over the years of beating a handcuffed suspect, beating juveniles, hiding drugs, stealing from suspects, defying orders, lying, falsifying police reports, and calling in sick to take a vacation. He is currently under investigation for the alleged battery of a domestic dispute suspect.

The Miami Herald is quoting the Miami police as stating the curfew enforcement is not a response to recent shootings. A string of shootings last weekend left two 16-year-olds dead and some communities are becoming restless for police action.

Instead, a Miami police spokesperson told the Miami newspaper that the curfew is related to the upcoming spring break, when school kids will be out of school.

This is not the first time that Miami police have instituted a curfew for teens. Enforcement of the law is normally stepped up during the summer months, when teens are out of school. The Juvenile Curfew Ordinance has been on the books in Miami for nearly two decades, but it is only in recent years that the Miami police have been using the curfew as a tool to curb violence involving teens.

Woods was hanging out with friends for dinner and was almost turned away from Hyde when no one recognized her. She eventually got in on her name, but didn’t stay long as the club was closing up.

“Someone in the entourage said, ‘This is Elin, Tiger Woods’ wife,’ so only after they dropped the name, they let her in,” a source said.

Nordegren is also making headlines because of the massive mansion she’s having built on Tiger’s dime. After a $100 million divorce settlement, the native Swede bought some prime North Palm Beach property and had it torn down to make way for her own vision, which includes a pool, spa, and koi ponds. She’s also made it very clear that it’s her property by placing a Swedish flag right on top of the structure.

Dressed in a silvery-gray one-piece and donning black nerd glasses at one point, Moore couch-danced next to Lenny Kravitz and hung out with the likes of Stacy Keibler, a.k.a Clooney’s girlfriend. The 50-year old appears to be doing well after a stint in rehab and what friends described as a “breakdown” following the Kutcher debacle, especially considering he’s now dating the Sexiest Woman Alive and is getting paid.

The actress allegedly drew the concern of her daughters earlier this year around the time she checked into rehab, but a “source” told Us Weekly that she’s doing a lot better.

“She’s in a good place,” the source said. “She’s open to experiencing new things this year.”

According to the report, Hurtado, a doctor from Guatemala, joked, “dynamite” when asked by a TACA Airlines ticket agent the standard question of if his bags contained any hazardous materials. According to a local NBC affiliate’s report, the agent actually gave Hurtado a chance to recant his statement by asking the question again, but Hurtado doubled-down on his dynamite joke and began laughing. As policy no doubt dictated, the agent took the threat seriously and called police while Hurtado tried to explain, too late, that his remark was only a joke.

The concourse was cleared, the bomb squad was called, and Hurtado’s bag was searched. No explosives were found, but everyone’s time was wasted. The AP reports that Hurtado’s sophisticated sense of humor caused one outgoing flight and the landing of several international flights to be delayed.

Hurtado was, predictably, taken into custody by police. He has been charged with “falsely reporting a bomb at an airport,” as an example and warning that U.S. airports are humor-free zones.

The highly publicized split between Johnson and Evelyn Lozada came at a bad time for Johnson; he had just been cut from the Miami Dolphins and was being accused of domestic violence. And while the couple have given conflicting stories as to what happened, Lozada says she has no intention of going back to her husband and just wants to be done with the divorce.

Since the violent incident, Johnson has gotten a tattoo of Lozada’s face on his leg and seems to be trying to repair the relationship with public apologies, but she isn’t taking the bait.

“I’m sure some opinions on me might have changed because of the things that have happened,” he said. “All I can say is, I’m sorry. I’m human.”

If Lozada wants the divorce bad enough, however, she can obtain it herself by Florida law without Johnson’s signature.

With some reporters taken aback by Google Maps decision to do what it sees is best for its future, Google Maps addressed the criticism, asking, “What should I do? Should I admit I’ve made mistakes? Should I remind you that I’ve done this before?”

Google Maps then went on to detail the updates, starting with Miami, which is home to the recently crowned NBA champions, Miami Heat. Below you can see the American Airlines Arena, which is the team’s home court and where the they won the championship last month, seen below.

Miami is also home to the second-largest performing arts center in the U.S., the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. Strangely, if you browse just a little bit north of the center, you’ll come across a billboard on the side of a building that depicts somewhat alien looking figures (it’s the same picture as in the lead image for this article).

Since most of the United States is currently experiencing a relentless heat wave, we’ll finish off this preview of Google Maps’ talent update with another beach-y locale. The next stop is North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, site of many a coed calamity where young, bright-eyed college students go to act out their best (or worst) Jersey Shore fantasy during the soused and sloppy week known as Spring Break. I never subjected myself to the pangs of Spring Break get-aways (at least, not to raucous beach locales) and, to be perfectly honest, looking at Myrtle Beach here with Google Maps is about as close as I think I ever care to get to that experience. Google must have gathered the imagery for the city’s 45° during winter or after some warning of shark attacks because the beach is sparsely attended and literally nobody is in the water. I think Google dropped the ball on this map because it would have been much more of an honest depiction of the American birth rite known as Spring Break if Google Maps would’ve grabbed the imagery during the last week of March or sometime near then.

Although Google Maps did in fact take its talents to South Beach and North Myrtle Beach, it also spread those talents to 29 other locations:

Well after the comments became public and the complaints started to roll in the department heads decided to have a disciplinary hearing regarding what they should do with Captain Beckmann . What came out of it is basically the harshest punishment one can get without getting fired. After 2 hours it was decided that Capt. Beckmann has been demoted to the lowest rank of firefighter and will have to submit to a psychological evaluation and take diversity training courses before he can rejoin the ranks.

His union representative has filed an appeal on Captain Beckmann’s behalf under the grounds that the punishment is too harsh for the event that took place. That his spotless record over the last 20 years is wiped away because of 1 erroneous Facebook post.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez said Monday that public employees writing “disparaging” comments about others in the community won’t be tolerated. “There’s no such thing as being off-the-clock; we are public servants 24/7 and must conduct ourselves with the utmost professionalism at all times.”

Let’s hope that the last thing we hear about race relations in Florida for a long time is the outcome of the Zimmerman case.

The comment in question was originally brought to life by the African-American centered website TheGrio.com. The website reached out to Captain Beckman in a private message on Facebook and got this reply to their questions:

“I am a private citizen and have the same right to freely express an opinion on any subject that anyone else does. I choose not to embellish or alter the facts as your employer chose to do.”

These comments by the Captain has prompted a rather vile discussion as to wether or not he be fired:

One person said “Brian Beckmann need to be terminated!! The saddest thing is the department was quick to point out the fact that the racists comments were placed on Beckman’s personal page and not the fire rescue department’s page. Hmmm…….. I am wondering do they support what this idiot wrote!!!!!”

Another had this to say, “Wow… Way to go Beckman. Can people like YOU be trusted to equally protect the citizens who pay your salary?? You are Truly Pathetic and a very poor reflection on the Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue. Sad.

Some people do not have a problem with it. “Nice that people take the time to thank you when you save lives…not just when someone has their own personal opinion. Well, thanks for going in when everyone else is running out. As long as you didn’t leave anyone behind say whatever the hell you want. This is America.”

The Miami-Dade fire department had this to say about his future: “Captain Brian Beckmann has been with Miami-Dade County since 1997. The post on his personal Facebook page is being investigated by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.”
