Facebook has introduced new privacy settings aimed at making it easier for users to have more control over their personal information and what they share.

A new control now makes it easy to share on Facebook with friends, and friends of friends or everyone in one click. The settings are immediately applied and displayed in a grid. Users will be able to customize their settings to control their level of sharing. The settings will now appear on a single page.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced last night that the social network now has over 350 million users around the world. The number indicates continued strong growth, because just in September, Facebook announced that it has surpassed 300 million. In early November, it was reported that Facebook had reached at least 325 million.

It was just mere months ago that Facebook announced they had 200 million members worldwide. Well, today they’ve passed another milestone… 250 million people are now using the social networking site.

It should be noted that back in January Facebook only had 150 million users… feels kind of funny saying only 150 million.

Yielding to pressure from it seems like just about everyone, Facebook is saying that it will make changes to the recent changes in its Terms of Service (TOS) (in other words going back to how it was). The WSJ covers the ‘event’ in their online edition.

Facebook is celebrating its 5th birthday today and the social networking site now boasts more than 150 million users globally.

In a blog post, founder Mark Zuckerberg reflects on the last five years. "Facebook was founded in 2004 to give people the tools to engage and understand the world around them. We are glad and humbled that so many people are using Facebook in this way."

Facebook Mulls Digital Music Business

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly considering entering into the digital music business and becoming a streaming competitor to iTunes and MySpace.

Zuckerberg is in talks with several song streaming services and music community sites including Rhapsody.com, iMeem.com, iLike.com, and Lala.com, sources familiar with the situation said, according to the New York Post.

Facebook Launches Redesign

Facebook is introducing a new design and is allowing users to preview the new features and functionality.

The company is inviting members to use the new design and try out the new features by navigating between the new and current versions of the site. Facebook says access to the new design will be limited initially and gradually become available to all of its users in the coming days.
