So much so, in fact, a multitude of publications–this one included–have leveraged these finds for content. A great example of this is the StreetViewFun blog, which, as the name implies, catalogs some of these moments.

Well, if the Reddit thread where the following image comes from is accurate, we may have another find for the Street View Hall of Fame; or, it just may be a young lady cleaning out her car. Observe:

What say you? Is that the scene from a dramatic, “get your shit and get out” breakup, or is she just cleaning up? As you can imagine, the Reddit comments had a field day with this, and the most upvoted comment gets straight to the point:

With her floormats on the street I’m going to go ahead and say this is just a girl cleaning out her car and OP is a filthy liar.

It should be noted the user who submitted it used the following title: “Google Streetview captures the glorious moment when my buddy kicks his now ex-gf out of his house.” Now, there’s really no way to be sure what is going on unless the person in the image steps up and clears the air. That being said, the user who submitted the image in question did post the following response:

A little backstory: this picture was taken a couple years ago since they have been broken up for a while now. My buddy no longer lives in the same town as me but I became aware of this recently by his brother who is currently my coworker…

So, did the Reddit user who netted this high karma submission submit a random find under the guise of his buddy getting dumped or is it the real deal? Let us know what you think.

Penny billboard appearing in California has been raising some eyebrows for the apparent similarity to one history’s most infamous characters. The news about the billboard, which is located around the 405 freeway near Culver City, in Southern California started making the rounds after it was popularized on Reddit, which was then referenced by an article in The Telegraph, which, in turn, also gained popularity on the aforementioned Reddit, as the story completed its Inception-like journey. The billboard in question appears in the lead image, and in the original Reddit that started it all, the post’s title says, “This Kettle looks Like Hitler.”

With that in mind, what say you? Can you see the resemblance? When asked about it on Twitter, the J.C. Penny account replied as follows:



While many people see the similarities–especially when the image is blurred–it seems like a bit of stretch. Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped the topic from growing legs and jumping into the (fleeting?) world of Internet trends, especially on Twitter. Apparently, it was a slow work day back after all that Memorial Day fun. Whatever the case, if you happen to own one of these kettles–use the following image to correctly identify it:

Government Attic has been hard at work open-records-requesting states across our great country to divulge their lists of banned license plates.

And it’s just as much fun as you would imagine.

Many states have caught on to you kids and your internetting. In Arizona, you can’t get a vanity plate that reads “LOLWTF.” Also prohibited – ROFLMAO.

If you look deeper into the data request for Arizona, let’s say, you find their general rules and regulation regarding what’s prohibited. Terms that connote breast, genitalia, buttocks, sexual functions, and eliminatory functions are banned – to nobody’s surprise. But banning a term for “superiority” is kind of strange. I guess that’s why you can’t register the plate “ALEXFU,” even if Alex deserved it.

You also can’t call yourself a “BADBICH” or a “BAMF.” You can’t even call yourself the “BESTLAY.”

Some of the banned plate tags are perplexing, others are just damn funny.

We’re looking at you, “BLZDEEP.”

Take, for instance, the latest web comic that Dorkly posted. It deals with Skyrim and playing tag, two great games that apparently go great together. It looks like a great deal of fun, just make sure the person you’re tagging doesn’t have any soul gems in their inventory, or at least hope they are over-encumbered and won’t be able to run after you:

The video in question, which has gained a measure of viral popularity:


It should be noted that the passengers in the airborne SUV survived their unexpected flight, although they were taken to the local hospital after complaining about pain in their back and neck. You don’t say? As some YouTube commenters pointed out, perhaps the driver should’ve heeded the warnings and slowed down; although, some countered that by saying the signs were poorly placed:

This is like having a no trespassing t-shirt that people can barely see behind the barrel of my gun. Why put the signs ON THE BUMP?!?! Go go gadget shock absorbers.

As pointed out by Channel 18, WQOW in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the person who filmed the now-viral video was shocked by what she saw:

“From the overpass we could see the big divots, but we’d stopped to take a picture of it because we’d seen a bunch of cars going over slowly, and scraping the underside of their cars. They were kind of lining up, checking the damage,” said Theresa Reich from Eau Claire. Reich and her brother-in-law had stopped on that overpass to take a picture of Highway 29. What Theresa didn’t realize was that as she tried to take a still picture of the pavement, the camera in her phone was already rolling… and it captured video of an SUV that went up the ramp, crossed the other lane of traffic, narrowly missed another vehicle… before coming to rest off the road.

The road has been subsequently closed in order for repairs to be made, something WQOQ addressed in one of their followup newscasts. It should be noted that since its upload on July 1, 2012, the video has already received over 100,000 views, securing its viral popularity.

That’s a good question, actually. My vote would be for LeBron, but that’s because people still love to hate the reigning NBA Finals MVP. Other Duke players who should be up for consideration? The newly-drafted Austin Rivers.

Lastly, props to Google for using Dunleavy’s drunk pic as part of his Google Profile sidebar widget. That’s almost as good as their take on Lionel Richie.

Aside from her obvious ease on a person’s eye, the gif that resulted from Kunis’ 3-point shot is pretty much winning the Internet at the moment, with much thanks belonging to Twitter user CJZero. As you might expect, her Kimmel appearance was to promote the upcoming movie, Ted. To help promote the comedy, Kunis was joined by co-start, Mark Wahlberg, but none of that really matters.

The fact that she shot her 3-pointer in the rare Granny style only adds to the gif’s appeal. Without it, that impressive thing she does with her legs right before releasing the shot wouldn’t be as apparent. As you might expect, Twitter didn’t miss out on the Mila fun, either. Some went a little bit overboard, but when you’re dealing with the Internet crowd, do you expect any less?

Instead, it’s a live-action recreation of a game of Conquest from Battlefield 3, courtesy of YouTube user, ThereIsaCanal. It’s such a good recreation of what the video game offers that it rivals those “real life” Call of Duty: Black OPs commercials. You know the one I’m talking about:


As you can probably imagine, ThereIsACanal’s creation was created with a much smaller budget than the CoD commercial, which, from my perspective, gives the Battlefield 3: Conquest in Real Life the leg up on its bigger budget competition. And no, I’m not trying to turn this into a CoD versus BF3 argument either. I’m just really impressed with Conquest recreation.

The sound effects in the video are the same as you would find in the BF3 game, and the inclusion of an airstrike and the first-person perspective helps the fan film a great deal. The animated tank was well done, and the dance sequence during the credits only helps this video’s immense charm. Apparently, those who have seen it feel the same as well. The video has been online for seven days now, and it’s already amassed over 100,000 views, with a like/dislike ratio of 5806 to 164. That’s a very acceptable breakdown.

The comments reflect the quality of the fan flick as well, especially such gems like:

All jokes aside–I don’t really want to piss Tyson off, either–it’s about what you’d expect. You have to admire Tyson and his efforts to put the negativity that followed him while he was boxing behind and as he continues to remake his image as a likable celebrity.

The song, which leads, has some great lyrics–”Oh, LeBron James is great. He makes Cleveland irate…”–has one drawback: it’s entirely too short, clocking in at a little over a minute long. Hopefully, the next time Kimmel has Tyson on as a vocalist, he’ll give him some more time to perform. Tyson’s groundbreaking performance didn’t escape the notice of Twitter, either, with Tyson himself giving us a head’s up:
