Yahoo-owned comparison shopping site Kelkoo is Yahoo-owned no more. The European service was founded in 1999 and purchased by Yahoo in 2004 for €450 million. Prior to that it had been involved in deals with both Microsoft and Ask.

Yahoo said yesterday that it is weighing "strategic options" for its online shopping comparison site Kelkoo that is based in Paris.

Yahoo’s purchase of Kelkoo, Europe’s largest online comparison-shopping service, has increased the amount of European visitors the web portal’s site by 12%.

Moving to solidify their position as the web’s largest portal, Yahoo announced they would be purchasing European Internet shopping portal Kelkoo.
