If you’re still looking for definitive proof that the internet can make anyone famous, meet Ernie Brown Jr, a.k.a. – The Turtleman. He’s from Lebanon, KY, and has gone from a backwoods turtle wrangler, to internet sensation, to getting his own show on Animal Planet. Now he can say he sat next to Eddie Murphy on Jay Leno.

Here’s the videos in case you missed the show last night. I don’t think I could pick anyone better to sit next to the Turtleman than Eddie Murphy.

How did a man go from getting his teeth knocked out by a chainsaw, to sitting in the chair that’s had the likes of Ashton Kutcher, William Shatner, and Justin Bieber sitting in it? The answer is simple, YouTube. The video originated on a local show called: Kentucky Afield. Due to the sheer hilarity of a grown man mucking around in algae infested ponds, Turtleman became a hit.

The rest as they say is history. His Animal Planet show is “Call of the Wildman“, and premieres this Sunday, November 6th, at 10pm.

Seriously, the market’s screwy right now. That 38-pound turkey that was offed behind Sarah Palin only sold on eBay for $225, half of which went to local veterans. Scarlett Johansson’s snot rag? Current bid is over $2,100.

At least all of those proceeds go to USA Harvest , so there is some justice.

Granted, Scarlett is much, much more interesting than Word Blizzard, but an enormously delicious famous bird seems just a little more valuable than starlet-secreted autacoid, don’t you think?

Well, what if I told you Samuel L. Jackson gave her the cold and that she blew her celebrity nose on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno in front of millions last night? Does that increase the value?

Apparently you’re wrong, because the Tonight Show’s selling the tissue on eBay, stuffed into an autographed baggie. They’ll also include pictures from the show, but no Leno autographs. You’ve got about four days left to get in on that.

But be warned, the eBay listing says the seller will not accept returns on this item.
