The CEO of the web-based email company has been replaced by his brother, chief product officer and co-founder Ofer Adler, a few weeks after the company ran afoul of Google’s AdSense policies.

In mid-January, IncrediMail suffered a shock to its revenue stream. Google deemed the company in violation of its AdSense terms, and stopped delivering advertising to IncrediMail’s pages.

Ten days later, IncrediMail got its AdSense and search ads back. The company issued a statement saying they were working on “resolving any remaining compliance issues, if any.”

We heard from Yaron Adler’s representative after that, offering an interview. The rep first agreed to, then rejected, our request to discuss the Google situation in detail. With the main topic out of bounds, we declined the chat.

Little did we know that Seeking Alpha would reveal Yaron Adler’s departure from the CEO job. Aaron Katsman cited this statement from the chair of IncrediMail’s board, Tami Gottlieb:

We are grateful to Yaron for his vision, leadership, enthusiasm and determination, bringing together with Ofer the Company so far. We accept Yaron

AdSense and search advertising have been reinstated for IncrediMail by Google, which suspended those services for the web-based email company last week.

Negotiations between the two companies bore fruit after Google unceremoniously dumped IncrediMail from its accounts last week.

IncrediMail announced they have regained their account. "We are pleased to be able to resolve this set-back so quickly and in such a positive way," Yaron Adler, IncrediMail’s CEO, said in a statement.

The recovery won’t be enough to save IncrediMail’s first quarter earnings. Those financials will see a "negative impact" when the company announces results.

When news of IncrediMail’s banishment from AdSense first became known, shares of the company fell in trading. An analyst cited in MSN Money suggested Google may have had some concerns about IncrediMail’s opt-in policies.

"Google and IncrediMail are now co-operating with the goal of resolving any remaining compliance issues, if any," IncrediMail also said in its statement.

Once IncrediMail disclosed that it got a notice from Google Inc. about the latter’s decision to end the advertising service relationship with the former, all hell broke lose.

Incredimail’s shares plummeted by 45 percentage points hitting this year’s lowest figure of $2.50. IncrediMail, specializes in producing customized e-mail solutions.

In a statement issued by the Incredimail it specified that its AdSense account has been scrapped. The association with Google had been quite profitable for them in the years 2006 and 2007. IncrediMail’s also stated that it is considering talks with the Google for further clarifications, discussions and negotiations in addition to approaching other vendors as an alternative.

Incredimail’s stocks have picked up a bit and had reached to a high of $2.70 in the morning. One lesson that’s become crystal clear from this episode is that if you put all your eggs in one basket, be ready for incurring some surprisingly hefty losses.

Israel-based IncrediMail saw a big chunk of their revenue go away when Google suddenly ended their existing AdSense and search ad relationship with the web-based email firm.

On October 3rd, 2007, IncrediMail rang the opening bell on NASDAQ. Later, on November 13th, they announced record revenues for the quarter and the first nine months of the year.

But news has emerged from the company that Google ended the AdSense partnership responsible for bringing a lot of that revenue to IncrediMail. Google also turned off the search ads displayed through IncrediMail.

“The Company is currently clarifying the matter with Google and simultaneously exploring alternative relationships, with Google and other vendors,” IncrediMail said in a statement.

That opening bell must sound like a distant, funereal echo now. Shares of IncrediMail plunged on NASDAQ; their previous close of $4.57 has turned into a $2.80 price today, as of press time.

“There is no reason for this move yet and I shudder to think what happened to cause Google to cancel the program,” Aaron Katsman said at BloggingStocks. “While this is a short-term setback for the internet company, I am sure that it will quickly announce a new partnership.”
