Google has announced a couple new features for Gmail. They’re almost cranking out too many to keep up with aren’t they?

Perhaps you’re a hard-charging businessperson who wants clients to know their questions will be answered even if you’re on the beach.  Or maybe you’re just someone who feels a need to quietly brag about vacationing overseas.  Either way, Google’s got you covered with a new "add your location to your signature" Gmail feature.

Google has released a new experiment feature in Gmail Labs that lets users activate multiple views within their inboxes. Fittingly, this feature is called "Multiple Inboxes." About two months ago, Google announced a new "Tasks" feature in Gmail Labs. the feature provides a window in Gmail similar to that of chat and lets you add tasks by simply clicking in the empty area and starting to type.

Now they are offering a mobile version of the feature for iPhones and Android devices. It is also accessible by any xhtml enabled phone.

The oldest email in any given person’s inbox probably confirms their account’s password.  After that, there may be some important note-to-self stuff.  But if the following messages are just moldy jokes or ancient conversations, some tidying up may be in order, and a new experiment in Gmail Labs should help.

There is a new feature for Gmail, which will allow users to create a "canned response". This means you will be able to save a message that you are likely to send a number of times. Gmail engineer Chad Perry gives the example of being on paternity leave and leaving the following response "in the can":

Considering what it is – near-instantaneous communication between potentially distant people – email’s pretty easy to use.  But Gmail Labs has just introduced two new features that have the potential to save folks some time and embarrassment.

A little over four months have gone by since Google launched Gmail Labs, and the company is now revisiting its collection of 13 experiments.  Or, to be more accurate, adding to it, with three new features.

Gmail users have had the better part of two weeks to play around in the new Gmail Labs.  With that sort of introductory period drawing to a close, the three most popular features are being given a bit of special recognition.
